Tutorials for Radio UserLand

Next on our tour of the Radio UserLand Resource Directory is the Tutorials section. There are several excellent series of tutorials for both users and developers. While Radio UserLand is a weblog tool, it also has a rich development environment. I will be covering some of those resources later in the week.

User tutorials

UserLand's list of tutorials for Radio UserLand
The Good Stuff - Russ Lipton's complete list of Radio UserLand tutorials
Tutorials by Craig Burton on various Radio UserLand features

Developer tutorials

Radio UserLand for Developers - quick explanation of some basic concepts on how Radio UserLand creates HTML pages, and touches on macros
Going crazy with macros - Initial demonstration of how you can write scripts in Radio UserLand's programming language (UserTalk) and include those scripts in text files to be rendered as HTML. UserTalk scripts that are used in this way are called "macros".
Going even crazier with macros - Demonstrates a macro that can be called in any web page to add a 1-pixel spacer to the rendered page
Going crazy with macros #3 - Demonstrates a macro that can display the XML Coffee Cup (an easy subscription icon for Radio UserLand) on any of your weblog pages
DIY Web Services with Radio 8 - explains how Radio UserLand can call web services within itself and display the results on weblog pages, and shows the way to calling other public web services via XML-RPC.
